Newark dancer in the spotlight with stars Ed Sheeran and Camila Cabello
A Newark dancer has followed his dream to dance with some of the biggest stars, from Ed Sheeran to KSI.
Kailum Richardson, 23, found his passion for dance while growing up in Newark.
He began training at AJ’s School of Dance aged eight, before taking his training to Nottingham and London while attending Magnus Church of England Academy.
Kailum’s mum Zoe Richardson said: “He just got a hunger for it.”
After completing school, Kailum was accepted into Addict Dance Academy, Leicester, where he continued to train.
Since he began booking professional work at 17, he has danced for stars including Anne Marie, Melanie Martinez, KSI.
“He has worked with some of the best choreographers in the UK and US,” Zoe said.
“He’s just doing amazing — his credits are unbelievable. I think its great that a lad from the Hawtonville Estate has been able to follow his dreams like this.”
Most recently he was on stage with Ed Sheeran and Camila Cabello at the Concert for Ukraine in Birmingham.
Kailum has also featured in films, including Jingle Jangle on Netflix, been on the Graham Norton show and danced at the Brits.
He is now also a member of the faculty at Addict Dance Academy, training other aspiring performers.
