Charlotte Hudson School of Dance students perform their annual show at Newark’s Palace Theatre

Over 200 dancing students from the age of three to the age of 80 performed at a school’s annual show.

Charlotte Hudson School of Dance took over Newark’s Palace Theatre on March 8 and 9 for their ‘Electric Energy 2025’ performance with three shows over the weekend.

There was a variety of dances including ballet, tap, theatrecraft and acro and according to the school’s principal, Charlotte Hudson, all the students ‘tried their hardest to impress a crowded audience’.

One of the audience’s favourites was the 80s-themed dance to Whitney Houston’s Dance With Somebody, where students creatively combined tap and pointe work.

Principal, Charlotte Hudson said “Each year the show gets bigger and better and I’m so proud of all my students.

“I didn’t know how they would cope doing three shows over the weekend, but they pulled it off.

“The Palace Theatre is a great venue, which makes it such a special event for the children and we are so lucky to have it in Newark.”

The classes at the school run from Monday to Saturday and people interested in joining, regardless of age and skill can check the Balderton-based studio’s Facebook page or website.

Next year’s annual show will take place on March 6 and 7.
