Newark Town Council reveal date for Newark Christmas market and lights switch-on
The date for Newark Christmas market and the lights-switch-on have been revealed.
The festive season will officially start on Sunday, November 26 with the lights switch-on event in Newark Market Place.
The event, delivered by Newark Town Council, offers a Christmas market, fairground rides and a large professional stage with plenty of musical entertainment including school choirs.
The end of the day is marked by the typical light switch-on countdown and firework display.
The town council committee approved that the existing Christmas lighting scheme be used this year.
As Lincoln Christmas Market was cancelled, Newark market is expected to have an increased demand for stalls from traders.
As a consequence, it is likely that more people will attend the event.
