Delays of 30 minutes on the A1 Southbound towards between Newark and Sutton-on-Trent

Severe delays of 30 minutes are being reported by the AA on the A1 southbound between Newark and Weston/Sutton-on-Trent.

The delays, which are increasing, are specifically between the B1164 Ashvale Road (Tuxford Junction) and A46 (Newark Showground/Air Museum Turn Off).

Average speed is currently 15mph.

Between the A1 and A46, the delays of nine minutes are easing. It is currently moving slowly (15mph) between the Lord Ted roundabout and A1 (Newark Showground / Air Museum Turn Off).

Kelham Road, headed towards the A46 bypass, is queuing heavier than usual.

And, as expected on a Friday afternoon, traffic is slow moving through the town centre.
