Delays on East Coast Main Line after reports of a person being struck by a train

Delays are expected on rail services between Newark and Retford after reports of a person being struck by a train.

A spokesperson for Virgin Trains East Coast said services could be disrupted for the next few hours following the incident close to Newark Northgate station.

Emergency services are dealing with the incident on the scene, and delays of up to 60 minutes to journeys are expected between the stations.

Disruption is expected to continue until approximately 2pm.
