Newark and Bingham firefighters tackled fire at derelict cottage on Linseed Avenue




An empty cottage has been severely damaged after a fire yesterday (Sunday, July 28).

Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service were called to a derelict property on Linseed Avenue, Newark, at 3.19pm.

The property, near Lincoln Road playing fields, has been empty for several years.

Firefighters from Newark and Bingham fire stations attended the scene.

They used two hose reel jets, one hose reel and an extension ladder to extinguish the fire.

The cottage was severely damaged in the blaze yesterday (July 28).

There were no injuries.

Crews returned to inspect the site at 6am today (Monday, July 29).
