Distracted by artists' work on display in Southwell Minster

Work by local artists is on display in Southwell Minster.

Distractions, which runs until February 20, is by Southwell Artists, a group of professionals that came together in 2004 to exhibit their work twice a year to the public.

They work in a wide variety of styles, including drawing, painting, sculpture and photography, on a range of subjects.

The Southwell Artists group is made up of Stuart Blackwood, Jackie Berridge, Heather Cartwright, Peter Cartwright, Jill Langford, Alison Whitmore, Ross Williams, Helen Sills, Lucy Hudson, Christine Measures, and David Willets.

The group has organised several successful open studios events, the last in 2018, to exhibit their work throughout the town. In addition, it has also initiated local events, such as The Big Draw in the minster.
