The Advetiser found out if people think Newark is one of the best places to live after the lifestyle magazine Muddy Stilletos ranked Newark-on-Trent one of the best places to live
In its weekly voxpop, the Advertiser found out people’s opinions on Newark's recent award of being one of the Best Places to Live.
The Lifestyle magazine Muddy Stilletos ranked Newark-on-Trent as one of the 260 best places to live in the country.
Within the county, the market town was voted best to live next to Southwell, Edwinstowe, Farnsfield, Beeston, West Bridgeford, Wollaton, Woodborough, Mapperly and The Park, Nottingham.
Despite the recent closure of shops and big names in the town such as Wilko, Osborne Stationers and G.H. Porters, the people the Advertiser spoke still find beauty and entertainment in the market town.
Janette Forsey said: “I lived all my life in North Devon which cannot be beaten by Newark comes a very close second.
“You got loads of lovely places to visit, I got my family living here but everywhere around here is just so beautiful, I love it.”
Julia Blackburn: “I do think, it is a fabulous place, very historic and lots of old buildings, the people are lovely and thereare plenty of cultural things to do.
“There is always a festival, a show or a lecture going on, it’s great.”
