Two dogs were discovered at Littlegates for Little People Children's Nursery in Dry Doddington yesterday morning.

Information is being sought after two dogs attacked chickens at a children's nursery.

The Jack Russell and Lurcher-type dogs were discovered on land belonging to Littlegates for Little People Children's Nursery in Dry Doddington in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

Two of the nursery's lavender pekin bantam chickens were sadly killed, including a very young chick and a cockeral.

The nursery's owners were able to capture and contain one of the dogs in a pen, and the other safely within the nursery grounds. It was found that neither of the dogs were microchipped.

The dogs were then collected by the local dog warden, where they will be kept until Tuesday..

A South Kesteven District Council spokesman said: "The two dogs were picked up by an SKDC dog warden this morning as strays. They have been kennelled and can be claimed by their owners in the next seven days."

If you recognise either of these dogs, contact SKDC's dog warden on 01476 590044.
