Newark Emmaus Trust and Children's Bereavement Centre host first joint Spring Dinnee Dance at Newark Showground
Two charities have joined forces to raise money with a glittering dinner dance.
The Newark Emmaus Trust and the Children’s Bereavement Centre partnered to host their first joint fundraising event, the Spring Dinner Dance, held at the Newark Showground.
Over 200 people attended, raising £15,000 to be shared between the two charities.
Chief executive of the Children’s Bereavement Centre Kate Baxter said: “The impact of covid-19 has been felt far and wide, and local charities services are needed now more than ever before.
“Last year, the Children’s Bereavement Centre helped 923 families receive the right kind of support and guidance they need at what is probably one of the most difficult times in their lives.”
The event was supported by headline sponsor The Barcode Warehouse.
Joanne Lee, HR and customer service director, said: “We are so proud to be the headline sponsor to support the Newark Emmaus Trust and the Children’s Bereavement Centre.
“Both charities are so inspiring in what they provide and achieve that it really was an honour to be a part of this event.”
Nikki Burley, chief executive of the Newark Emmaus Trust, added: “It was a truly fabulous night. Our sincere thanks go to everyone who attended, sponsored the event, gave pro bono support, volunteered, provided prizes for the raffle or donated auction items — and those who took part in the raffle and auction.
“We are grateful to so many people for helping us to raise such an incredible amount of money which will fund activities for our residents at the trust and most importantly make a difference in their young lives.”
