Drivers warned about A46 bridge work

Bridge beams will be installed near Owthorpe junction this weekend as part of work to dual the A46 between Newark and Widmerpool.

Temporary traffic lights will be on the A46, Cotgrave Road, Owthorpe and Owthorpe Road, Cotgrave from 6pm on Saturday to 6pm on Sunday. Delays are expected.

Drivers are advised that the road layout will change at the Owthorpe junction on Sunday afternoon once the beams have been lifted into place on the new Owthorpe bridge.

Once the beams are in place on the eastern side of the bridge, traffic will be diverted underneath. The western beams will be lifted into position once traffic is on the new diversion.

The Highways Agency is advising road users to allow extra time and to take care when driving through the road works and the new layout.
