Eggcellent drawings by Highfields School pupils displayed for salons' Easter competition
An Easter competition has seen more than 40 youngsters' drawings displayed in salon windows.
Catherine Carter, who owns Catherine Carter Aesthetics and Beauty, on Millgate, and the Newark Beauty Rooms, on Lombard Street, invited Highfields School pupils to draw their best Easter picture to be displayed in her salon windows.
She said: "I think it is nice to celebrate Easter with the children and my daughter is an ex-pupil of Highfields. She left in summer and she still has lots of fond memories of Highfields, so I thought, why don't we do an Easter competition to put the children's Easter egg posters in the windows?
"They don't tend to do that in secondary school but she quite likes things like that and wanted to judge them."
Catherine's daughter India Carter, 11, chose the two lots of winners anonymously, one for upper forms and the other for lower forms.
The upper form winners were, in first place, Skylah in form six, in second, Clemmie in form five, and in third, Hannah in form six.
The lower form winners were, in first, Adam in form two, in second, Charlie in form one, and in third, Olivia in form two.
The winners all received a book voucher, Easter egg and a salon voucher for their parents.
Catherine is no stranger to holding events for Highfields, having been part of their FFH fundraising team in the past.
The posters will be on display in the salon windows until April 11.
