Manchester terror attack : Eight-year-old Myah asks God to love victims in Heaven

An eight-year-old girl moved by the Manchester terror attack says she hopes God will look after the victims in Heaven.

Myah King, of Clumber Avenue, Newark, was so upset by Monday’s outrage that she wrote a letter.

The Mount School pupil asked God to stop terror attacks and love the victims in Heaven.

A suicide bomber killed 22 people, including children, and injured 64 others after detonating a home-made device at the Manchester Arena following a concert by pop star Ariana Grande.

Among the victims was eight-year-old Saffie-Rose Roussos, of Tarleton, Lancashire.

Myah’s mother, Lyndsey Cummings, said: “As soon as I read about the attack and the victims, as a mother and having an eight-year-old girl myself, it was horrible.

“People went there with their young children and some didn’t return home.”

Lyndsey said she spoke to Myah and her six-year-old sister, Gabrielle, about what had happened.

“We explained that sometimes people want to do things that aren’t particularly good and this was a bad thing. Then we watched a little bit of news.

“At school they explained what happened and I think that’s why Myah came home and wrote this letter.

“She enjoys writing but I have never found anything as touching as this.”

“I hate it when I see terror attacks.”

Myah, who has no personal connection to any of the victims or Manchester, wrote:
“Dear God, please stop these terror attacks and love them people in heaven.

“Manchester should not have to put up with this. It is very upsetting and people aged young who are being killed by the bomb.

“I hate it when I see terror attacks.”

Lyndsey shared the letter on Facebook, where it received more than 100 reactions.

She said: “Myah was writing away on Tuesday night and she left her piece of paper downstairs.

“She quite often writes letters to God but rarely something that touches you like this.”

Lyndsey said people who read the letter found it comforting.

“It was a little bit heart-warming to find out that’s the sort of person I’m bringing up,” she said.

“A lot of people have seen the letter and they can’t believe that she’s written it.”
