An elderly woman was cut free from a car by fire crews after a crash with another vehicle in Bingham this afternoon.

The collision happened in Tithby Road just after 2pm. Three other people were in the vehicles at the time. They did not have to be released.

A spokeswoman for Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “This was a special service call and the alarm was caused by two cars in collision and in collision with road furniture.”

The woman was taken to hospital after suffering chest and back pain in the incident.

Fire crews from Bingham, Highfields and West Bridgford attended the scene.
