Visit Belton in Bloom at National Trust’s Belton House
Visitors to an estate house can immerse themselves in a spring bloom this weekend.
Belton in Bloom, at Belton House, begins today (Saturday, April 20) and runs until next Sunday (April 28).
This is an opportunity to enjoy time outdoors on the ‘blossom lawn’ in the gardens, as well as to step inside Belton House to see the spring flower displays.
Claire Barrett, senior programming and partnerships officer at Belton, said: “After the long, wet winter, we’re all looking forward to longer, lighter days again.
“Belton in Bloom is a celebration of the wonderful gardens and parkland at Belton, and we hope visitors will join us to celebrate these spaces in their spring glory.
“We’ve got over 650 knitted and crocheted blossoms that staff and volunteers have created, and you’ll be able to spot these on your wanders around the estate.
“We hope that these lovely creations will provide a pop of colour and inspire visitors to get creative this spring.”
For a more in-depth experience, visitors can enjoy a guided tour - which can be booked online - through the blossoms in the gardens and orchard.
The activities form part of the National Trust’s annual blossom campaign, which is in its fifth year.
As in previous years, the charity is encouraging people to share snapshots of their blossom discoveries on social media, using the hashtag #BlossomWatch.
The National Trust’s Blossom campaign is supported by players of People’s Postcode Lottery.
