Newark and Sherwood District Council raises awareness to fake letter going around households in the district

The district council is raising awareness to a fake letter is being sent to households across the district.

The letter is being sent in a plain white envelope to households in Newark and Sherwood addressed to homeowners titled — Important information about your Council Tax.

Inside the letter is titled — Your next Council Tax demand —, however, the letter is not from Newark and Sherwood District Council, the authority that manages Council Tax.

The Council Tax information the district council sends out would arrive in an envelope with their logo on it.
