The family of 15-year-old Joe Parker who died on the railway in Newark yesterday morning have paid tribute to their "beautiful son."

In a statement from his parents and sister today they said: "On November 15 we lost Joe, a beautiful, kind and thoughtful boy who loved, and was loved, by his family and friends.

"He was the type of person that once you met him you would never forget."

The family have asked to be allowed to grieve as a family and time to come to terms with what has happened.

They have asked for no flowers but donations, instead, to CASY, a Newark charity providing counselling and support for young people.
