Fare dodger, failing to attend unpaid work and motoring offences come before Nottingham magistrates




A fare dodger has been fined at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court.

Robert Musgrove, of Bowland Road, Bingham, did not have a valid ticket to travel on the railway at York.

The 40-year-old pleaded guilty and was fined £153 and must pay £110 compensation.

A driver who was convicted of driving without due care and attention was fined and had points added to his licence.

Caleb Mierkalns, 34, pleaded not guilty to the charge but was found guilty following a trial at magistrates’ court.

Mierkalns, of Plains Road, Mapperley, committed the offence in Radcliffe.

He was fined £346 and told to pay £448 in costs. He had three points added to his licence.

A speeding motorist was disqualified from driving for six months by magistrates.

David Cotterill, 63, was clocked on the A52 at Radcliffe doing 48mph in a 40mph zone.

Cotterill, of Bingham Road, Radcliffe, was fined £176 and told to pay £124 costs following a guilty plea.

A disqualification was deemed an obligation because Cotterill was a repeat offender.

A Southwell man was fined £200 for failing to turn up for community service.

Redford Oakley, 29, of Kirkby Close, admitted breaching the requirement of a prior sentence.

A motorist who was using a mobile phone while driving was awarded six penalty points and fined.

Christian Ratcliffe, 50, of Great North Road, Markham Moor, had denied it, but was found guilty by magistrates after a trial.

As a result, he received six points, a fine of £230 and costs of £392.
