Breakfast with Santa and real-life reindeer at Hardy’s Farm Shop, Farndon, this Christmas

A farm shop is once again to turn into a winter wonderland with a range of Christmas events for the whole family.

There will be a chance to eat breakfast with Santa and meet real life reindeer at Hardy’s Farm Shop and Cafe, Fardon, this winter.

Festivities start on Saturday, November 11, with the shop’s first ever Christmas Market, held in the Christmas marquee.

It will showcase the area’s independent crafters, and provide a great opportunity to purchase one-off Christmas gifts.

A second market will be held the following weekend, on Saturday, November 18. Both are free to enter.

Holly Hardy said: “It’s all about starting the festivities and getting people in the spirit.

“Everything is family friendly, we want to be a destination at Christmas time.

“It is really important to us to keep the costs down to try and get people out and about.”

On Friday, November 24, visitors can get up close to real-life reindeer — and Hardy’s donkeys dressed up for the occasion — for a magical evening with Rudolph.

Held from 5pm to 8pm the event includes a mince pie, hot drink, a meet and greet with Mrs Claus and her naughty elf and small edible gift.

Tickets are £8 and under twos free. The farm shop and cafe will be open until 8.30pm for visitors to enjoy dinner or some shopping after the event.

“We had Rudolph a couple of years ago,” Holly added.

“This year it is at night and we will have fairy lights and candle lights to make it even more magical.”

Every weekend in December families can enjoy Breakfast with Santa, from 9am to 11am.

The event boasts two hours of festive fun, starting off with 40 minutes of magic by award winning magician Alex Michael, followed by breakfast served by naughty Christmas elves.

There will be chance to decorate a Christmas cookie, a meet and greet and photo opportunity with Father Christmas, a visit to his grotto and a gift.

The event was also held last year and has been brought back after receiving lots of positive feedback.

Tickets are £16 per person, with a choice of a cooked breakfast or breakfast roll for both adults and children.

Holly added: “We try and do something a bit different, its not just a visit to Santa’s grotto.

“People really enjoy the biscuit decorating and the magician, its something a little bit out of the ordinary.”

Tickets for the events can be booked online at www.hardysfarndon.co.uk/book-online.

Hardy’s Farm Shop and Corner House Cafe are open from 9am to 5pm on Monday to Saturday, and 10am to 4pm on Sunday.
