Farndon Road, Newark, re-opens following collision

Firefighters cut a woman free from a car which crashed on Victoria Street, Newark, this morning.

The road was closed in both directions from the Spring House pub on Farndon Road to Spring Gardens.

Police say two cars were involved and the crash happened at 10.15am.

Two fire engines and a specialist rescue unit attended the scene and a woman was rescued after the roof of her Vauxhall Astra was cut off.

Crews were at the scene for an hour.

The woman was taken to hospital.
