Fatal accident on the A46 at Newark

The A46 at Newark will remain closed between the Livestock Market and Brownhills roundabouts until at least 4pm this afternoon following a fatal accident.
Police say a man died in the accident at around 10.15am this morning.
The man was driving a Honda car which was in collision with an HGV on the bridge section of the A46 Newark bypass, also known as Robert Dukeson Avenue.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
No one else was injured in the collision.
Traffic was gridlocked at both roundabouts, on Lincoln Road and the Great North road, with queues spilling out into Newark.
