Christmas comes to Middlebeck with flurry of festive events
A 694-acre development welcomed a flurry of festive events this month with markets and carol singing.
Adults and children got together to watch the Christmas light switch-on outside Christ Church of England School, Middlebeck.
The event welcomed the Newark Town Band singing carols, followed by a fun festive market at the school.
On December 14, families flocked to Santa Grotto at the school to meet Father Christmas, receive a gift, and enjoy the festive crafts and refreshments.
Middlebeck resident Karly Au said: “It was a wonderful experience for our family.
“All of us enjoyed seeing Santa and we made a lot of crafts together.
“Thank you so much for the opportunity to be a part of it, and we really appreciate all the staff who participated in this event.”
Alongside the events organised by Middlebeck’s developer Urban & Civic, the community was visited by Santa and his elves, as part of a tour by Newark and District Round Table to raise money for charities.
Simon Murphy, Urban & Civic’s Community Development lead for Middlebeck, said: “We’ve already got a wonderful community at Middlebeck, and seeing them come together for Christmas events in the past few weeks really has been wonderful.
“From the Christmas lights switch-on and carols, along with our fun festive market, and our Santa’s Grotto at the weekend at Christ Church CofE school, we’ve had some great family-focused events that have brought everyone together and spread some real festive cheer.
“As our community gets bigger and more people take up the chance to move into a great home at Middlebeck, we can’t wait to see everyone come together regularly for some of our great events.”
