Newark and Southwell fire crews attend a crash with woman trapped in a car in Kirklington




Fire crews attended a crash with a person trapped in a car on Monday.

Firefighters were sent to an incident on Hockerton Road, Kirklington, at around 9pm.

The incident involved a car with one female trapped inside after the Ford KA collided with a telegraph pole.

Crews stabilised the vehicle and recovered the casualty who was then handed over to care of ambulance crew.

The woman's injuries ­— which are not thought to be life threatening ­— were sustained after the vehicle left the road before landing on its roof in a field.

Police remained at the scene to recover the car and make the fallen telegraph lines safe.

Police have now urged drivers to reduce their speed and allow for extra time when travelling in wet conditions.

Anyone who witnessed the collision or captured the incident on dashcam footage is asked to call Nottinghamshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 863 of October 14.
