Fire on Newark industrial site dampened down

Newark Fire Station have confirmed that the fire on the industrial estate off Bowbridge Road was put out this morning.

Although unconfirmed, residents say the fire started on November 5.

Yesterday the blaze was still burning and producing plumes of black smoke.

However extensive work yesterday and heavy rain reduced the size of the controlled fire.

Fire crews dampened down the remaining smoke this morning and it was confirmed to have ended at 9am.
