Newark Fire station will hold a coffee morning in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support on Sunday
Newark Fire Station is to hold a coffee morning on Sunday to raise money for charity.
In aid of Macmillan Cancer Support, the event invites people to come along and chat with firefighters about cancer.
It is also celebrating the life of former Blue Watch Firefighter Graham McGuigan, who died of the disease in November 2017.
The coffee morning is part of an annual international fundraiser where volunteers host their own gathering and give donations received to Macmillan services.
Simon Turley, crew manager at Newark Fire Station, said the event is open to anyone.
“Anyone affected by cancer is welcome to come and chat with our crews, whether it be about the fire service or not.
“This is something most people can relate to because we all know someone affected by the disease,” he said.
Members of the public are encouraged to attend the fire station any time between 10-12pm on Sunday.
