Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue teams are in attendance of a waste fire in Newark Northgate area

Emergency services remain at the scene of a large fire at an industrial fire in Newark Northgate.

The fire was first reported around 3pm today (November 11) in the Northgate area.

Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service have six fire engines, the welfare unit and the command unit on the scene.

The large smoke plume can be seen from the A46 and A1.

It is advised that people avoid the area and keep doors and windows closed.

There are no reports of injured or people affected.
