Newark and Collingham firefighters deal with 'major' gas leak on Hawton Lane
Firefighters are dealing what the fire service has called a major gas leak in Newark.
Crews from Newark and Collingham have attended Hawton Lane after a 'major' gas leak was reported at around 3pm today.
Emergency services have closed off Hawton Lane both ways between the traffic lights at Bowbridge Road and Lansbury Road.

It will remain temporarily closed while the fault is fixed.
The road was closed at around 3pm and slow traffic has now developed around the town.
Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service said: "Hawton Lane in Balderton is closed in both directions due to a major gas leak.
"Anybody in the area of Hawton Lane is asked to keep doors and windows closed. Please avoid the area whilst the incident is resolved."
