Youngsters from the Dukeries Young Person’s centre attend Edwinstowe Fire Station for fitness training and team work exercises

It was a positive experience for young people from the area who trained with firefighters from the Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service.

Participants from the Young People's Centre at Dukeries took part in fitness circuits at Edwinstowe Fire Station.

"This fitness circuit required no equipment and really highlighted the importance of physical agility and strength," said a spokesman from the Dukeries Young People's Centre.

"Our amazing young people gave this their all, and we would love to say well done team.

"For the second half of the session, young people got kitted up and headed outside to do some hose running.

"The fantastic fire fighting team showed young people how to handle the equipment, and set up a workshop-based scenario for them to respond. "This tested the team's work skillset and ability to work under pressure.

"All of this learning will be put to the test this week when we head up to Edwinstowe's fire station for our next session.

"Thank you again to Jo and the team for delivering an outstanding opportunity for the young people from the Dukeries Young Person's Centre."
