New Morrisons Daily store opens in Southwell after former McColl’s renovated
The doors opened to a supermarket chain’s new convenience store today.
The new Morrisons Daily store, on Leeway Road, Southwell, opened today after the former McColl’s store at the site underwent a makeover.
It has been fully redesigned, with bright new branding, fresh produce and a Costa Express machine.
A Morrisons spokesman said: "The new Morrisons Daily fresh food convenience store will offer customers a carefully tailored mix of Morrisons own brand products alongside branded favourites. As well as new ranges, the store has received a complete redesign internally and externally incorporating Morrisons bright, modern branding.
“Fresh food is at the heart of the store and we hope customers will love it."
The Bradford-based supermarket giant Morrisons bought the convenience chain McColl’s in a £190 million rescue deal in May 2022, after McColl’s went into administration in light of soaring costs due to supply chain disruption, inflation and its large debt burden.
Since, over 350 former McColl’s stores have begun trading under Morrisons Daily branding, with the Southwell shop now joining the line-up.
It was closed from June 8 to 7am this morning (June 16) to undergo the transformation.
The store also stocks a slection of Free From, pet, hygiene and alcohol products.
