Gorilla Man Fitness receives a £500 grant from the Newark and Sherwood Community Team
A fitness business owner has invested grant money in new equipment which are making his customers ‘happy and stronger’.
Adam Savage, the owner of Gorilla Man Fitness, received a £500 grant from Newark and Sherwood Community Team in the middle of March this year.
The money helped Adam pay for seated hand bikes, seated bikes, resistance bands and some hand weights.
In October last year, the business became a Community Interest Company, meaning the owner was able to apply for community grants.
The seated hand bikes and seated bikes allow the business to offer leg and cardio work for his clients, meaning he could offer improved and extra classes.
Adam said: “I feel great about the new equipment because it makes the people I train happy and stronger.
“I do this job to help and inspire people and seeing them laugh and smile as they are working out is what it is all about, I always tell people that fitness has more to do with your mental health than keeping fit.”
Adam added that since the new equipment was introduced to the classes on March 20, people reported that their knee and leg pains have gone and they can move more easily.
The new bikes have become a success as three people who attended Adam’s fitness classes already asked him to order them their own seated bikes.
