A flood alert issued for the River Devon is no longer in force.

The alert, which meant flooding was possible, was issued by the Government's flood information service and covered the Devon and the River Smite.

An update to the alert said: "River Smite levels have fallen and are below levels of concern.

"There is no longer a threat of further flooding.

"Easthorpe, Bottesford, Beaver Lane and the Woolsthorpe to Beaver Road in Woolsthorpe, Church Lane and Main Street in Muston should now be clear of water although some standing water may remain.

"No further rainfall is expected.

"Although, we recommend caution as the situation could change.

"We are closely monitoring the situation and working with and assisting the council and emergency services."
