Storm Babet: Flood warnings for River Devon at Bottesford, Easthorpe and Muston, and River Trent near Caythorpe and Hoveringham




A flood warning has been put in place for parts of the district.

The Environment Agency says levels are rising on the River Devon at the Woolsthorpe river gauge as a result of Storm Babet and flooding of properties is imminent.

It says the areas most at risk are Bottesford, including Easthorpe, Muston, and Woolsthorpe.

On its website, the agency says: “We are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff are patrolling watercourses in the area.

“Please move possessions and valuables off the ground or to safety and move family, pets and cars to safety.”

A flood warning is also in place for Foston Beck, from Sedgebrook to the A1, covering the A1 area from Foston to Great Gonerby.

The Enivonment Agency is asking residents to take action to protect themselves and their property and to continue monitoring weather and river conditions.

Flood alerts on in place for the River Trent, covering the Caythorpe and Hoveringham areas.

Areas most at risk are low-lying agricultural land and roads including communities near the river.
