Flooding closes the A1 near Foston, Nottinghamshire and Nottingham Road in Southwell

Flooding continues to cause issues for drivers across the area with the closing of several major roads.

The A1 near Long Bennington is now closed Northbound from

the A52 Tollemache Road North to Sewstern Lane (Long Bennington South Junction).

Delays have been reportedly increasing on A1 Southbound between B6325 Great North Road and Newark Road near Coddington.

The A1 turn-off to Fernwood has also been closed.

The average speed in this area has dropped to ten mph.

Nottingham Road in Southwell is also closed due to flooding both ways from Halloughton Road to Lees Field.

Delays have been reported on the A46 Northbound between Lodge Lane and B6166 Farndon Road (Lord Ted Roundabout) near Newark.

Drivers are advised to exercise caution and drive to the conditions.
