La Vita Mia is set to open seven days a week from 6am until 10pm.

“Unfortunately, I lost my dear wife in 2020 and I promised her I would open a restaurant in her honour in the town because she loved Newark and the people so much,” said the restaurant’s owner.

He added: “She was a fantastic pasta chef, we used to worked together, god bless her.”

Amedeos already owns an Italian restaurant – La Bella Vita, in Ollerton.

The Ollerton restaurant has been operating since 2016.

The head chef first started cooking at the age of 15 at his father’s restaurant, where he developed his passion for cooking.

He moved to England in 2003 where he opened his first restaurant in Southport named Amadeos.

When he met his wife in 2005, the couple moved back to Italy where they got married and worked there for ten years.

“Everyone seems to be very happy and pleased with us at our restaurant there.

“We hope the Newark people will support us in our new endeavour.”
