Free blood pressure checks

Free blood pressure checks are available at Manor Pharmacies in Newark until Sunday as part of a national blood pressure testing initiative.

The pharmacies are among more than 1,500 official pressure stations taking part in the nation's biggest blood pressure testing event run by the charity Blood Pressure UK.

The charity is urging all adults to know their partner's, family and their own blood pressure.

Superintendent Pharmacist, Mr David Evans said: "We are happy to support the Know your Numbers! campaign again this year.

"We hope that local people will take advantage of this service and reduce their risk of stroke and heart disease.

"The blood pressure check is quick, free, painless and could save your life."
