Free tickets on offer for exciting Racing League meeting at Southwell Racecourse
Advertiser readers are being offered the chance of a free night out at the races at Southwell Racecourse next week.
The course is hosting the penultimate meeting of the Racing League a week today, in which seven regional teams are competing to be named league champions.
It promises plenty of thrills as teams battle it out for the top spot in a series of high-octane races.
It is Southwell’s first time hosting the competition — which offers horse racing with a difference.
The racecourse is set to host the fifth fixture of the competition on Thursday, September 8.
The seven regional teams — Ireland, Scotland, Yorkshire, The North, The East, Wales and The West, and London and The South — will race for points to boost them up the league table. The team with the highest number of points after the final race will become the league champion for 2022.
Gates open at 3.45pm next Thursday with the first of seven flat races at 5.45pm and the last at 8.45pm.
Each race will vary in length from five to 15 furlongs, with two runners from every team in each race to form a field of 14 runners.
The league combines the thrill of racing with team sport and entertainment — for an evening described as lively summer evening entertainment after work, or a fun day out with the family.
Seven jockeys represent each team, alongside trainers and a team manager, as they compete for over £2m in prize money.
