A group of seven are to take part in a parachute jump from Langar Airfield on April 18 in support of their friend who will be running the London Marathon a week later.

Mr Jason Booth, 35, of Brunts Farm Close, Claypole, is to run the marathon with two brothers, Mr Mark Moody, 36, of Palmer Road, Sutton-on-Trent, and Mr Peter Moody, 34, of Nelson Road, Balderton.

They have been inspired to do it by their mother Mrs Elaine Moody of Grove Street, Balderton, who has run two London Marathons despite being diagnosed with Alzheimer's.

Her health has stopped her doing it this year.

Those doing the parachute jump are Mr Mark Reid, 39, of Granby Drive, Balderton, Mr Adam Long, 30, of Gaitskell Way, Balderton; Mr Richard Sperke, 36, of Marron Close, Fernwood; Mr Luke Carter, 21, of Grange Road, Newark; Mr Lee Cregg, 32, of Grove Street, Balderton; Louise Joslin, 38, of Goldstraw Lane, Balderton; and Mrs Kate Fell, 29, of Sleaford Road, Newark.
