Friends to wing walk for Macmillan Cancer Support
Four friends are taking on a daredevil challenge to raise money for charity.
Mrs Tracy Janjevic, 42, of Eastdale Mews, Fernwood, Mrs Liz Wibberley, 53, of Lower Kirklington Road, Southwell, Mr Simon Collins, 39, of Oliver Close, Newark, and Mrs Annette Doran, 48, of Grantham are all doing a wing walk to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support.
The four are all past or present employees of HSBC in Newark and Grantham.
A wing walk involves standing up on the wings of a plane in mid-flight.
Mrs Wibberley said personal experiences had inspired them to take on the adreneline-pumping charity challenge.
Mrs Janjevic’s father has been treated for cancer, and Mrs Doran has had successful treatment for Non-Hodgkins lymphoma.
They were contacted by Macmillan after taking part in previous fundraising activities including a sky dive and 230-mile bike ride.
Mrs Wibberley said: “As the event approaches nerves have kicked in but we are all very excited.”
The wing walk takes place on Saturday at Wickenby Aerodrome, Lincolnshire.
