Nottingham’s Old Market Square water fountains have been repurposed for Fantasy Island’s newest water attraction

A fountain that previously sat in the centre of Nottingham’s Old Market Square has recently been turned into part of a theme park ride.

UK entertainment and attractions business, Mellors Group, reused the old fountain for the Wild River Rapids water attraction, which is brand-new to Fantasy Island in Skegness.

James Mellors Jnr, manager director of Mellors Group, said: “We are thrilled to see so many people already enjoying our brand-new ride, Wild River Rapids.

"Not only is the new ride one of just two water-based rides at the theme park, but the ride makes use of the old fountain previously located in Nottingham city centre.

“Reusing the Old Market Square water feature ensures the fountain is put to good use in a place people can enjoy it and have fun.”
