Your photos of the harvest supermoon in Newark and surrounding areas

We’ve loved seeing your amazing photos of a rare natural phenomenon earlier this week.

The harvest supermoon rose on Tuesday evening (September 17), so called because they usually happen at around harvest time in mid September.

This coincided with a rare partial lunar eclipse in the early hours of Wednesday morning, where part of the moon’s surface was covered by the earth’s shadow.

Supermoons are rare, and this was the second of only four to take place this year.

We had some beautiful photos taken of this natural phenomenon sent in to us by our readers, which you can see here in this online gallery.

If you’d like to share your photos of the harvest moon, email rachel.armitage@iliffepublishing.co.uk and we’ll add as many as we can to our online gallery.
