Newark and Sherwood District Council’s planning committee approved plans to demolish two garages and build a one-bedroom bungalow in Sutton-on-Trent
A new bungalow will be built in place of two garages.
An application to demolish two garages and build a one-bedroom bungalow in their place in Sutton-on-Trent was agreed by Newark and Sherwood District Council’s planning committee.
The new bungalow on The Meerings, Sutton-on-Trent would be a modest home with a hall, open plan kitchen dining/living room, a bedroom, bathroom and store, with two parking spaces and a small garden at the front and back.
The application received six objections from residents, and the parish council objected on the grounds of highway safety, loss of off-street parking should the garages be demolished and the loss of a communal area for neighbouring residents.
Committee member Johno Lee said: “We need houses and sadly we have a massive waiting list for council houses, so I’m happy to support the approval.”
