GCSE results 2022: Excitement and nerves as around 300 students arrive at Toot Hill School, Bingham to receive GCSE results

After beginning their key stage four education in the middle of a global pandemic and undertaking their studies remotely throughout national lockdowns, the Toot Hill School Bingham class of 2022 have today received the results of their efforts.

There was a sense of excitement and nervousness as students queued up to receive their results.

Seven of the school's students secured eight or more GCSEs at grade nine.

The school again achieved exceptionally strong outcomes this year across all measures, with over 20% of students securing a grade seven or above in both English and maths, and almost 70% of students securing a strong pass (grade five) in both English and maths, enabling many to progress to their preferred pathway.

After a difficult couple of years due to the coronavirus, the school acknowledged the hard work of staff, students, and supporters.

“We owe much to the strong partnership we have with our students and their families," said Dr Eardley.

"I would therefore like to take this opportunity to thank our teachers and parents/carers who have been tireless in their support of our students to ensure they advance into the most aspirational of destinations in this early step of their lives.

"I am delighted that the majority of the Year 11 students will be staying with us as part of the sixth form college next year.”

“There are too many success stories to mention, particularly when considering the challenging personal experiences of many families during recent years."
