Georgia set for Caribbean trip after modelling success

A trainee nurse will represent her country at a world modelling competition, in the Caribbean.

Fernwood resident Georgia Nickerson claimed the Top Model of England competition at an event in Barnsley, held in conjunction with the World Supermodel England contest.

The 20-year-old triumphed following three rounds at the Fairway Hotel: blue jeans and black T-shirt; designer (featuring hats and tiaras); and evening gowns.

Georgia, who is studying at the University of Lincoln, has won previous competitions including Miss Teen Newark and Face Of The World UK.

She said she was emotional after clinching the Top Model of England crown.

“It was amazing, I started crying,” said Georgia. “The other girls were really excited for me.

“I’ll now compete in the world event, in Grenada, some time in March.

“This is an international competition so it’s really exciting. I’ve been told that we’ll be going out on trips and there will be photoshoots, and a catwalk competition.

“These contests are something that I like doing so I’ll keep entering them and see how it goes.”
