Giant veg grower breaks two British records
A gardener who has become an expert in growing large vegetables has set two British records.
Mr Peter Glazebrook, of Halam, set British records for the heaviest tomato and the heaviest radish at the Malvern Autumn Show.
His whopping radish tipped the scales at 10.38kg and his tomato came in at 2.88kg.
Mr Glazebrook is known for his love of growing large vegetables and has previously set world records for the heaviest carrot, cauliflower and potato.
He began growing giant vegetables about 25 years ago. He sows seeds harvested from the vegetables and uses different foods to suit each variety.
Diana Walton, Head of Shows at Three Counties, said: "The passion and perseverance of these growers is amazing and our visitors absolutely love it.
"We never fail to be astounded at the sheer size and scale, they literally are one of the biggest draws of the show."
