Newark Golf Club raise thousands for Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance
Newark Golf Club aimed high to raise vital funds to support the Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance.
In 2018 club captain Kevin Ferguson and ladies’ captain Josie Wake joined forces along with the members, to raise £4,510.98 to help keep the ambucopter flying.
The club held two charity days, raffles and donated profit from the sale of refreshments on competition days.
The cheque was presented to Phil Holmes, a volunteer with the air ambulance, which is a charity and receives no state funding.
Mr Holmes explained to a packed clubhouse that the air ambulance is ever more needed and used.
There is now a bigger helicopter with more equipment and medical staff on board that is able to fly round-the-clock.
