Curl Up ‘N’ Dye hair salon on Lombard Street, Newark relocated to Portland Street, Newark
A successful hairdresser hosted an opening event as she expanded her businesses into new premises.
Shannon Donnelly, owner of Curl Up ‘N’ Dye, on Lombard Street, Newark has relocated her businesses to 23-25 Portland Street, Newark.
Shannon first opened her hairdressing business when she was only 18 years old.
The grand opening event took place on Tuesday, May 16 with a lot of offers and discounts available for customers, including sunbed, sunbed creams and hair.
Drinks and nibbles were available at the event.
The expansion has seen the addition of sunbeds to the salon, as well as Shannon’s children’s pamper parties.
She is also a premier party stockist of GHD hair tools.
“I had a lot of people walking through the door and their first words were just wow wow wow, it was quite a wow scene,” the owner said.
There are also new beauty rooms as part of the Portland Street salon, which are hoped to be used for aesthetics, beauty treatments and nails, and Shannon is looking for beauticians, nail professionals and hairdressers to join the salon space to offer these services.

Shannon said: “I don’t have many words to say, you don’t really recognise what you do yourself but the past few days seeing everything come together I thought – Oh my god, I have come quite far.
“It’s a big achievement of what I have done, from being 18 to being where I am now at 25, you do realise you have come far.
“I want to be one of those places where you can go and get everything done, that’s why I went from the small salon to the big salon.
“It’s all for my clients as if it wasn't for them I wouldn’t be in here either.”
Her mother, Mrs Katrina Webster added: “I’m so proud, she always works so hard. She really listens to all of her customers and even on social media you can guarantee her name always comes up, it’s fantastic.”
