Balderton hairdresser retires after over 20 years working at Beehive Unisex Salon
A hairdresser has hung up her scissors after more than 20 years at a salon.
Anita Newport, was based at Beehive Unisex Salon on Main Street, Balderton, owned by Sue Peck, where she had been cutting and styling hair for 21 years.
She officially retired today, Saturday, March 2, coinciding with the closure of the Main Street Beehive salon, which is being merged with Beehive Newstyle on London Road.
Anita said: “I would like to thank all my customers for becoming friends over the years of doing their hair, the chats and laughs, Sue Peck for putting up with me for 21 plus years, all the people I have worked with over the years — and Emma Stevenson, who I have worked closely with for the past 21 years.
“We have had our laughs and very happy times together.”
Her colleague at Beehive Unisex, Emma Stevenson, added the salon was a “very happy place” to work and the pair had shared lots of laughs.
Sue Peck and the Beehive hairdressers have wished Anita a long and happy retirement after her lengthy career in hairdressing.
Anita added: “Thanks for the lovely gifts, comments and cards I have received on my retirement from people. Thank you so much.”
