Heavy rainfall causes flooding problems for villages

Villages in the Advertiser area have been impacted by flash floods following heavy rainfall on Saturday.

Fire crews from Newark and Tuxford were called to Sutton-on-Trent on Saturday evening to carry out welfare checks and offer safety advice after severe flooding,

The village's Lord Nelson pub put out a Facebook message offering support and help to villagers who have been affected.

There have also been issues reported in Leadenham and Brant Broughton, with Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue crews in attendance along with police..

Sir William Robertson Academy appealed for support from villagers and volunteers after one of their school blocks was affected by rising water.

Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue have also tweeted out advice to anyone who has been impacted by flooding.
