Collection points set up in Newark and Sherwood for donations to help war-torn Ukraine

A number of collection points are active in Newark and Sherwood for essential items to be donated for the Ukrainian people.

As war continues to rage in Ukraine at the hands of the Russian oppressor, collection points have been set up at Tesco Express in Balderton and The Old Coach House and The Bramley pubs in Southwell.

Southwell Town Council is also accepting donations at the Old Court House on the Burgage.

Items such as shampoo, body wash/soap, sanitary products, clothing (children and baby) dry food (pasta, rice) baby formula, nappies, unwanted toys/teddies and blankets can all be taken to any of the above venues.

Lisa Plummer, of the Bramley Apple, said: "Some people escaped with only the clothes on their back and we can give them something to keep them going.

"It will make them aware that people are thinking about them."

Collections at the Bramley are until Thursday, but there is another charity to get extra donations to Ukraine afterwards.
