Bingham home building excellence rewarded by National House Building Council

A senior site manager responsible for overseeing the delivery of hundreds of homes at a new housing development has received an award from the National House Building Council (NHBC).

Dane Mumford, who has worked for David Wilson Homes for eight years, has collected his second consecutive Seal of Excellence award for his work at Bingham’s Romans’ Quarter development, off Dunsmore Avenue.

Dane is one of just 26 winners in the NHBC’s East region to achieve the feat this year.

Dane, 36, said: “To be an NHBC award winner is a real privilege, and it’s a reflection of what a great team effort can achieve.

“The Seal of Excellence award win reflects the quality in each home at Romans’ Quarter at every build stage from foundation to finish.”

The awards celebrate the role site managers play in ensuring new homes are delivered on-time, on safe sites and to the highest quality standards.

Dane said: “I began my career in the industry in 2004 as a Bricklaying Apprentice, and moved into trainee management in 2014 with David Wilson Homes, and ever since then my career has gone from strength to strength.

“I really enjoy my job role as a senior site manager, it comes with a lot of responsibility such as ensuring everyone’s safety on site, the quality of customer’s new homes, and making sure we hit targets and deadlines under a lot of constraints such as the recent material supply delays.

“My favourite part of the job is appreciating the end product just before the customers move in to their brand new homes.

“It gives you a real sense of pride to be part of that journey.

“I feel a huge sense of achievement to be considered as a winner amongst some of the best site managers in the country at such an early stage in my career.

“I’d like to thank my management team, John Carpenter and Charles Mann for their continued support and all the trades and operatives on site here at Romans’ Quarter.

“Without them, we would not be able to achieve what we have done over the last four to five years.”
